From the Community-focused and Centered Health Services Project... Community Midwives Training and Capacity Building Program... Al-Qafr Al-Safil Directorate... Ibb Governorate. With the support of the Canadian organization HCI, Angela for Development and Humanitarian Response Foundation conducted the training course for community midwives in the field of basic postnatal care. The training targeted a group of community midwives from various areas within the directorate, including remote areas. The objectives of this course focused on basic postnatal care and how to deal with critical newborn cases, starting from unsafe fetal positioning before birth to correcting fetal positioning and proper handling of newborn choking cases, suctioning fluids, and other dangerous situations that newborns may face during and after birth. Additionally, during the training course, comprehensive medical kits equipped with necessary tools and devices for newborn care were provided to all trained midwives to facilitate the provision of midwifery and natural childbirth services in homes located in remote areas away from health centers. At the end of the course, the trainees expressed their appreciation for the knowledge gained, which added significant value to their medical expertise in midwifery. They extended their gratitude and appreciation to the supporting Canadian organization and to Angela Foundation for their efforts during the course and throughout the project in general.
